The Greek gods were divinities that the Ancient Greeks believed in as part of the ancient Hellenic religion. The most important and worshipped gods are known as the Twelve Olympians: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Demeter, Hermes, Artemis, Aphrodite, Ares, Hephaestus and either Hestia or Dionysus. Other important gods include Persephone, Hades, Eros, Pan, Asclepius, Heracles and Hecate.
