Miscellaneous Myths is a series by Red where she takes various cultural myths and explains both the actual story and the greater implications/societal context for the myth. These videos tend to be shorter, many below five minutes, but a few are upwards of fifteen minutes long.

Fables and Folktales[]
Although labeled as "Fables and Folktales" rather than "Miscellaneous Myths", these videos are nonetheless included in the Miscellaneous Myths playlist. According to Red, "it's myth-y enough I'm still gonna put it in the same playlist, but it would've felt disingenuous calling it a myth, soooooo"
- The Snow Queen
- Prince Lindworm
- Urashima-Tarō
- The Sun Maiden and the Crescent Moon
- Tokoyo and the Sea Monster
- Shippeitaro

Notes[]
- ↑ In January 2021, Red added a disclaimer to this video stating that this myth is most likely not actually from the Lenape, and appears to have been invented in the 1980s as a modified version of a traditional Cherokee story. The story has since been propagated by various other seemingly independent sources, including Overly Sarcastic Productions, in an instance of citogenesis. The episode is now unlisted and resides in the Bad History Playlist.
Trivia[]
- While most Miscellaneous Myths videos focus on one single myth, a few such as Dionysus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and Quetzalcoatl explore the god or goddess' real life history and influence in the societies they were a part of. Other videos cover a series of myths from different cultures all united by a common theme.
